  i just had an incredible phone conversation with a long-time jw who has strong "q-anon" "sovereign citizen" beliefs.

  the wife(first gen) says she is not surprised.

  What are the benefits of doubts?

  what are the benefits of having created the human mind being able to have doubts inside (or regarding) the true religion (jude 22)?.

  because if you have doubts, you are not sure, so it is difficult to believe and trust.

  and if it is difficult to believe and trust, it is even more difficult to have faith since it is the "assured" expectation of what is hoped for (hebrews 11:1).

  like many, i’ve been bemused at lloyd evan’s excuses/reasons for his lusting after prostitutes.

  apparently, as he claims in his disastrous video, he blames his wife for being inadequate between the sheets.. could the real answer to his ‘problem’ be closer to home?.

  perhaps if he consulted a medical person or even a sex therapist he may learn his “problem” is not down to the borg at all, it may simply be caused by his weight i.e.

  imagine the "faithful" jws who are now having to talk to this person by court order or face the consequences----legally.. exjws are spreading the news and now some exjws who have been disfellowshipped for years are starting to research to see if this is an option in their country.

  No one should be forced to speak to another person if they dont want to.

  On the other hand, is it right for any religious organisation to tell its members who they can speak to or not?

  The jw's go too far when they expect people to shun immediate family members and produce videos to demonstrate exactly how to do it.

  Can you list the positive points of being a JW as against the negative points of being a JW in your experience ?

  i was a twenty y/old when i converted to the jw religion and was a problem drinker and i was a chain smoker .when i was baptized at a circuit assembly a year later , my conversion and change in lifestyle was given as an example of the effectiveness of incidental witnessing to the audience.. so i can point to the 2 positives becoming a jw .. 1.i gave up smoking.

  2.i gave up drinking for a while ,but because i still had association with my wife`s and my family who were not jw`s ,i learnt to control my social drinking when i started again.. and i have been a responsible drinker ever since ,even though i left the religion 29 years ago.. the negative points of being a jw in my 32 years of being one ?

  are far too great to list here .. love to hear your thoughts..

  Interesting post Smiddy.

  A JW elder told me once that I should be grateful because of what I had gained from the org, for example, my wife, who I adore. For those of us born-in's, we simply dont know how our lives would have turned out, or what paths we would have taken - good or bad.

  How do I know I wouldnt have got an even better wife outside the org?

  the latest video release 4/4/22 (lesson 44 'don't give up') in the comic series of caleb & sophia just got weirder.

  the plot is about caleb & sophia preaching door to door, caleb with his father and sophia with her mother.

  it shows each of them having doors slammed on them four times.

  How far do we get away from 1914

  how far do we get away from 1914 before they have a new light and admit it was all wrong?.

  they cling to the old theory of the 77 week prophecy from the wrong date that jerusalem was destroyed .

  with the overlapping generations nonsense still we are getting too far away from 1914. what will they say if we get to the 2030s and they still cling to 1914?.

  JW kids born around 1995 don't see the 1914 generation in the same way us older ones did. These ones are now almost in their 30's and have families of their own. In the meantime, the older generations have long reconciled the change and performed whatever mental gymnastics they required to help them cope with the change.

  The GB just has to wait for the older generations, along with their inconvenient memories to die and it's a clean slate all over again for the org.

  Good to see scholar back again, always nice to have some comedy relief once in a while. 😀

  sorry if this has been discussed before but on quora someone asked if rutherford had said that dinosaurs had been taken to venus .

  i assume that the questioner had heard it somewhere and wanted to check it out.
